Round 2: Battlin' It Out

West Palm Beach, FL - June 26, 2009 - Final preparations are underway for the Round 2 of the NSCRA National Championship on July 5th, 2009 at Palm Beach International Raceway. Hundreds of racers, new and old, have already committed to coming out and lighting up the quarter mile with the World's Fastest Sport Compacts. Come and watch as racers go after the bounty from Round 1's winners: Chris Green (South Florida Turbo True Street), Mark Podkowik (Street Compact Naturally Aspirated), Hector Santana (Phantom Grip Street Outlaw: 4-Cylinder), Chris Gore (Street Outlaw: 6-Cylinder), Armando Melendez (Naturally Aspirated Sport Compact), Juan Rodriguez (Turbo Sport Compact), and Luis Ferrer Jr. (Modified Sport Compact). Any racer will have the opportunity for an additional cash payout if they are able to take down Round 1's winners throughout the day of fierce heads up racing competition.

Prayoonto Racing's Clutch Masters team will be making their debut to the NSCRA series campaigning three cars in three separate classes. In the Phantom Grip Street Outlaw 4-Cylinder class, Jonathan Reynolds will be piloting the Prayoonto Racing / Supertech Performance 2000 Acura Integra. Get ready to witness an 8-second pass from this beautiful car as Prayoonto Racing has really stepped up their game on their K24 engine program. Loan Nguyen will be taking her 1995 Honda Civic sponsored by The Driveshaft Shop down the quarter mile in the Street Compact Naturally Aspirated class. This car has already gone mid 10's with a 350+ hp K20A motor. There should be some interesting rivalries brewing in this class! Last but not least, Norris Prayoonto will be piloting his Honda Insight representing for the pistons in the Naturally Aspirated Sport Compact class. He is looking forward to proving that his Clutch Masters K-powered beast is ready to shatter records and not only take home the bounty but the class win as well. "We are excited to support the NSCRA and bringing all three cars to the event will be a great opportunity for our team and sponsors," said Norris Prayoonto.

In the South Florida Turbo True Street class, the NSCRA is excited to see what Chris Green has up his sleeve after capturing his first victory on May 3rd, 2009. "It was the first time out with that car, so we've obviously gone back to do a lot of tuning based on our first event's results. We're excited to see what the car can do this time out," Chris Green told the NSCRA. Make sure you take advantage of the opportunity to see Green's badass Audi up close and personal on July 5th.

Street Outlaw 6-Cylinder will be an exciting class as Darin Dichiara from Titan Motorsports never had a chance to even line up against Chris Gore in the South Florida Turbo Supra on May 3rd. After breaking in the semi-finals, we anticipate Dichiara to be back to claim what he believes is rightfully his - the class win. Speaking of Titan Motorsports, the NSCRA is proud to announce that we are in the works of bringing their world-class drag cars to the NSCRA series. Don't miss out on the chance to witness their record setting Copper Supra terrorize the track on July 5th.

And of course the Modified Sport Compact class will be featuring the World's Fastest Sport Compact drag cars. Last event witnessed the Mazworx S15 on a record-setting run before disaster came. Will the Mazworx team have their car back together in time to shattered the record on July 5th? Or will Luis Ferrer Jr. continus his dominance of the Modified Sport Compact class? Who will step up for the $500.00 bounty? There's only one way to find out - come on out July 5th!

As always, the NSCRA will be featuring Florida's hottest show cars with over 20 car show classes for everyone to participate in. Enjoy delicacies from the Carribean Carnival Style Food Court and live music in a family-friend environment.

Lastly, the NSCRA is well aware of the concerns from rain. Let it be known that the NSCRA and Palm Beach International Raceway is dedicated to putting on this event and are armed and ready to clean up and dry the track in the chance that rain does occur. We will not be forced to leave the track at anytime and our delays will be kept to a minimal to make sure everyone gets their chance to watch the World's Fastest Sport Compacts compete and put on a show.
