Car Show Spotlight: Edwin Diad

As part of competing at NSCRA events, the car show participants also receive their fair share of the spotlight. Edwin Diad sports this beautiful FC RX-7 that caught our eye out on the show floor at Round 1's event on May 3rd, 2009. Our friends over at www.bizspeed.net caught up with Edwin Diad and shot some fantastic photos of the car for the NSCRA website.

Winners from NSCRA's car show will have a chance to get featured similar to Edwin's vehicle. By competing in NSCRA's car show, you are not only chasing the championship points chase at the end of the season like our racers, but you are getting a chance at getting featured on not only NSCRA.com, but our affiliates' websites as well such as www.tunerzine.com. So make sure you bring your car down to the NSCRA Car Show on July 5th, 2009 and have your chance at getting seen!

Back to Edwin's FC RX-7 however. THe exterior sports an Re Amemiya FC200 front bumper with the rest of the styling coming from Bomex. The Bomex Aero sie skirts and rear bumper has been molded on to give the car a very clean look. While it was at the paint and body shop, Edwin had the moldings, antenna, wing and emblems shaved off the car. The front of the vehicle is now wider thanks to a set of 20mm Origin front fenders. The entire car has been repainted a beautiful custom Amber White. Contrasting the bright white shade is an Origin carbon fiber hood and gloss black accents on the headlights, door handles, gas cap and rear bumper.

Under the hood, the FC is no slouch. Edwin's RX-7 screams with the help of several forced induction components. A GReddy 3-row front mount intercooler along with their turbo inlet pipe keeps the force induced air cool as it routes through an HKS down pipe and out of the GReddy Power Extreme dual exhaust. The sharp shrill of an HKS SSQV blow off valve can be heard from a mile away. Getting the power to the ground is an ACT stage 3 clutch kit and helping add bits of horsepower throughout is RE Amemiya spark plug wires and a fuel bypass regulator. Electronics include a GReddy PRofec B Spec-2 boost controller and HKS FCD.

In the interior, Edwin has overhauled the car with a seroes of Autometer gauges, a Sparco Champion LE steering wheel and Bride Gias carbon kevlar seats. In car entertainment includes a deck from Pioneer, a Kicker 12-inch L5 subwoofer and ZX750.1 amplifier. Carbon fiber and white accents can also be seen throughout.

Last but not least, this FC RX-7 prowls the street in style with a set of TEIN Type FLEX coilovers fully equipped with EDFC. Tanabe front and rear sway bars along with a Rotora 4-piston big brake kit can be seen behind the staggered set of Super Advan Racing ver. 2 wheels in a gold finish. The front sports a 18x8.5 setup while the rear is a wider 18x9.5.

We can't wait to see what additional changes Edwin makes to his FC RX-7 for the July 5th, 2009 event. Make sure to head on out to Palm Beach International Raceway on that date to not only compete and show off what you've got, but ot check out the world's fastest sport compacts battle it out.
